I can see how above was ambiguous. For clarity, pumpkins originated to MesoAmerica with subsequent travel to Europe. Pumpkins are native to the Americas and were the early colonizers the ones that brought them to Europe so the Historical use section about Rome and Ancient Greece using pumpkin seeds is false.
